We are seeing an pediatric surgeon next Thursday. They aren't getting better and the nail can't grow over the skin. The infection is under control but he may need surgery. SUCKS is all I can say. Poor little man. This is what I get for having an easy labor and delivery! Baby with a cold, bad toes, cries a lot, needs to be carried all the time. But he's a wonderful baby and mommies little boy!!! Love the guy to death.

Under construction...
Please excuse my layout and cut off pictures! I am currently trying to find a new and improved template for my blog and apparently making changes to blogger deletes things you had on your page. I will be working on it when I have time (or make time when i'm not chatting with online friends, eating bon bons, napping and oh ya, taking care of the kids!!!).

Nathan's toes. Where did I go wrong???
Well, it was back to the doctor yesterday for Nathan. He had been on antibiotics for almost a week and I just didn't feel like they were getting better like they should be. They are terribly swollen on the tips and it is preventing the nail from growing over the skin. I decided to see a different doctor in the practice since the last two didn't excite me too much and she seemed to want to chart out an aggressive treatment for him to try and get this resolved. So we changed his antibiotic, she swabbed samples from the infected area to make sure there wasn't a funky bacteria going on and I am supposed to soak his feet in water twice a day. And soaking a 3 month old's feet is REALLY fun!!! Especially when your 16 month old is crying and tugging at your leg while you are trying to hold a gigantic 15 lb baby's feet in a tupperware bowl of water. The joys of being a SAHM. So, he goes back in one week to be evaluated. The last resort (which may be the next resort) will be surgery to take his nails off so the area can heal properly. But that involves putting him under for surgery which is risky. So please, send healthy, non-swollen toe vibes our way!
And for your viewing pleasure, here are my little Tigers!!

More stats
Nathan had his three month check up today. He is 15 lbs 1 oz and already 26" long. He's in the 90th percentile for both height and weight. For those of you keeping track, Katie is 22 lbs and 30" tall at 16 months. Nathan is catching up at only three months! His big toes have looked horrible since about birth. He seems to have ingrown toenails and they just keep getting worse and worse. At his two month check up I was told to soak his feet. Now, I wasn't the best at doing this but I tried and his toes got a whole lot worse. So today the doctor said they are horribly infected and he is on antibiotics. Poor little guy!! I feel so bad for him but hope this new treatment works. I have visions of him needing his toes amputated!!

My kids are the cutest!
Since Nathan is trying so hard to sit up on his own I thought i'd get the ol Bumbo seat out and give it a whirl. He really tries to sit up while in my lap so I figured he may have enough strength to hold his head up. So, here he is...first time in the Bumbo seat today
Just for shi** and giggles, here's Katie in the Bumbo seat last year. She was about the same age Nathan is now
Um, she doesn't look as thrilled as he does.
Here is Katie in the Bumbo today, because she of course had to get in on the action!!!
She looks happier now...
The kiddies are doing great and I really don't have much of an update on anything. Oh, Katie can now open the dishwasher and crawl in. So if anyone knows of a childproofing device that keeps dishwashers closed, please let me know!!!

Baby Stats!!!
Yesterday was Katie's 15 month appointment and Nathan's 2 month appointment. And it was sooooooooooooo much fun to take them all by my lonesome to the doctor. I can't wait to do it again!!! The most exciting part was when Nathan was screaming on the table while it was Katie's turn to be tortured - I mean examined. I got to hold Nathan while trying to keep Katie on the table as she screamed and tried to climb down. The nurse said she felt sorry for me, although I really don't need any pity. We decided to have kids close together so this is what you get right? I am just glad that at the next appointment it will ONLY be Nathan's turn so I won't have to get them both dressed and undressed.
So Nathan is a whopping 13 lbs 11 oz and 22.5" long. He is at the top of the charts for his weight and about the middle for height. Katie is 22 lbs even and 30" long (or I guess you could say tall now that she stands up!!). She is now at the bottom of the chart for both height and weight. So after a year of hearing how I over feed her I now get to hear how I don't feed her enough! You can never win. And of course it's okay for Nathan to be big because he's a "big healthy boy!".
Nathan is now sleeping through the night! Most nights I get from 10 - 7 although I get the occasional 5:00 wake up and rarely the 3:30 wake up. You would think I feel like a million bucks right? Wrong! Still tired. I guess that's the price I get to pay for two kids under 2! At least I lost all the Nathan baby weight.
